Stop the food crisis

The world is facing a global food crisis. Act now to help those most at risk.

Millions of people, especially women, are unable to feed their families due to the rise in the cost of staple foods such as rice, maize and corn.

Already over 850 million people suffer from hunger. With soaring inflation and rising food prices, it is estimated this crisis will push 100 million more people into poverty.

From 3-5 June an important UN world food conference is being held in response to this crisis in Rome. Members of the UN High Level Task Force, along with heads of state and representatives from the World Bank and IMF will meet at the Food and Agriculture Organisation. You are being asked to help too.

The Global Call to Action Against Poverty, along with many other civil society groups, is urging leaders to take action to promote a truly sustainable food market and long term food security.

Take action alongside hundreds of thousands of people around the world. Sign the petition calling on world leaders to take immediate action to stop the food crisis.
